CEOWho gets to play at their hobby every day? Call me lucky I guess because in over 25 years I've never looked at my work as work. I've been blessed (or cursed depending on one's perspective) to have a place to spend my 'working hours' that even after all these years still intrigues me every single day. I fell into the direct marketing of promotional products quite by accident in 1985 but what a lucky fall it has proven to be. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I had an affinity for numbers and the direct marketing business is full of numbers...now, of course, it's called 'data'...so it was a good match from the start. There have been a number of twists and turns over the years but I had the privilege to work with great teams of dedicated people who held and hold many of the same values I do...mainly that we want to treat everyone the way we want to be treated. Sometimes this is a lot easier to say than do but I know of no one who does it by themselves in business so getting the right team together and keeping them together is often a function of following this axiom...treating others fairly and well. In my non-working life I play a bit of golf...okay, maybe quite a bit of golf...but more than half my golf is played with my wife who might possibly like the game more than I do! I enjoy reading...mostly fiction these days with an occasional business book or two thrown in the mix. And I don't get to see my daughter and granddaughters as much as I'd like since they live six hours away but our 18-month old grandson is just minutes away so we get to see the little guy weekly which is pretty cool. Cheers!
